CMVE Purchases 2-Year Agreement for Consortia Use of Kognito’s “Veterans on Campus” Module

CMVE has purchased a 2-year agreement with Kognito for full consortia use of the “Veterans on Campus” faculty and staff training modules intended to build military cultural competency to support veterans enrolling in higher education. Though Kognito usually licenses their product to individual institutions, CMVE was able to negotiate a consortia agreement that will allow full use of the product at all of the 43 public community colleges and universities that the consortium serves. CMVE leadership is working with Kognito on an implementation strategy and more details on how and when you can start using this product on your campuses will be forthcoming to CMVE members this summer. A number of you have expressed interest in doing more on your campuses to award credit for military experience. This will be one type of alternative credit that will be discussed during the MSSN Summer Meeting scheduled on July 13 from 10 am-3 pm at St. Clair County Community College. Speakers are confirmed from the American Council on Education (ACE), the Council on Adult and Experiential Learning (CAEL), and the CollegeBoard for an in-depth look at “Leveraging Alternative Credit Pathways to Support Completion Strategies.” We also look forward to hearing from several colleges and universities on innovative strategies they are using to award alternative credit during small group discussion sessions.
