Still time to Register for Wednesday’s (8/17) 2PM Kognito Launch Webinar
Register to join us for CMVE’s Kognito Launch webinar event on Aug. 17, 2016 at 2PM! The launch event will feature Kognito staff giving a brief overview of the Veterans on Campus online training module, several CMVE campuses discussing their use (and planned use) of the training modules, and plenty of time for Q and A on how the product can further engage faculty and staff on training about military cultural competencies and, particularly, the unique needs of veterans in higher education. Please remember to email me directly (don’t reply to the listserv!) to designate your campus keyholder if you haven’t already.
Michigan Featured in Recently Published Online Guide to Military PLA
The Multi-State Collaborative on Military Credit (MCMC) is very pleased to announce the completion of an online resource, Valuing Military Learning – A Guide to Military Prior Learning Assessment and More, designed to assist veterans in their transition to the civilian workforce by capitalizing on their military experience as a form of prior learning assessment (PLA). In addition to general tips on pursuing higher education, the guide features details about all 13 MCMC states, including a spotlight on Lansing Community College’s Military Medic to Paramedic Program and correlated student narrative from a successful LCC graduate. The guide was created in partnership with the Council on Adult and Experiential Learning (CAEL) as part of an MCMC project generously funded by USA Funds to smooth the pathway through education to employment for military-connected students pursuing healthcare fields.
