CMVE Academic Credit Knowledge Community Virtual Meeting Today (1/10) at 9
Anyone interested is welcome to join us for this virtual meeting that will cover a review of MI-litary Equivalency Project activities to-date, offer a quick tour of online resources available for institutional use, and get perspectives from Michigan Transfer Steering Committee members Dennis Bertch, Kalamazoo Valley Community College, and Deedee Stakley, Ferris State University. During this meeting, participants will also have the opportunity to ask questions, discuss barriers faced in moving this work forward on your campuses, and share ideas for collaborative opportunities to more effectively award credit for military training throughout Michigan. Travel Grants Available for Upcoming CCME and NASPA Conferences – Apply now!
CMVE is pleased to be able to offer additional $750 travel grants on a first-come, first-served basis for two quickly approaching conferences. The NASPA Symposium on Military-Connected Students takes place February 15-17, 2018 in New Orleans, LA. Click here for more details about registration. The deadline to register is 1/19. The Council of College and Military Educators (CCME) Symposium takes place March 26-29, 2018 in San Diego, CA. This year’s theme is “Navigating Change: Transforming Challenges into Opportunities in Military & Veteran Education”. Click here for details on pricing and to register. Early bird deadline is 1/15. Click here to apply for this grant. Since the deadlines are fast-approaching, these will be awarded on a rolling first-come, first-served basis through the posted conference deadlines.

Student Veteran Leadership Brigade Applications Due 1/19/18
CMVE is excited to be partnering with the Michigan Veterans Affairs Agency (MVAA) and Student Veterans of America (SVA) on a Leadership Symposium planned for student veterans by student veterans in Spring 2018. We are looking for students interested in working on the planning committee, that we’re calling our 2018 student veteran leadership brigade, for this event. Please encourage student veterans on your campus to apply for this opportunity by submitting this online application before the priority deadline of January 19, 2018.

MHEC’S Multi-State Collaborative on Military Credit (MCMC) will offer a webinar on Thursday, January 25, 2018, at 2:00 p.m. ET, in collaboration with the Association of Institutional Research next month. The webinar: Institutional Research for Military Connected Student Success will highlight the increased interest in higher education to measure the success of veterans and other military connected students.
